Different airlines set their own rules for passengers. Most of them are simple and clear, and are aimed at maintaining the safety and comfort of all travelers, but there are also unusual prohibitions. We will tell you what you need to know before the flight, and you start searching for airline tickets .
There are basic requirements for passenger behavior - you can't raise your hands or insult other tourists. US Airways has written down in its rules the words for which you can be removed from the flight. The list includes verbal aggression on the topic of gender, race, age or sexual orientation. You can't smoke (including e-cigarettes) or board a plane while intoxicated, even if you bought a first class ticket .
It seems like a funny joke, but American Airlines and Delta have rules against stinking. Passengers are prohibited from using strong perfumes and are advised to wash before the flight. For an unpleasant and irritating smell, a tourist will be removed from the flight.
Often, it is forbidden to fly barefoot or topless. Some airlines allow only children under 5 years of age to be on the plane without shoes. Sometimes the rules also specify the permitted degree of nudity. Clothing that will disturb other passengers is also prohibited - feathers and spikes.
The restrictions on carrying personal items on planes are surprisingly diverse. The rules regarding the size and types of personal items vary greatly across airlines. US low-cost airline JetBlue prohibits boxes from being checked in on international flights. There are also difficulties with technology. Some allow laptops and tablets to be carried in carry-on luggage only. And for greater convenience, buy business class tickets .
But the basic safety requirements are approximately the same in all airlines. You cannot carry sharp objects, weapons (and their imitation), explosives and flammable substances, poisons, axes and other tools, sports equipment, etc. in your hand luggage.
Airplane transportation rules strictly regulate the amount and type of liquids, aerosols and gels allowed in hand luggage. They are only allowed in containers up to 100 ml each. Keep this in mind when planning an independent trip or organizing tours .
This applies to creams, drinking water, oils, shampoos and shower gels, perfumes and other things. They must be placed in a transparent plastic bag and tightly closed. The maximum volume of the bag is 1 liter. The only exceptions are baby food, medicines and other liquids for medical purposes.
The 100 ml limit also applies to liquid food. Thus, you cannot take drinking yoghurts, sauces, butter, honey, jam and marmalade into the cabin if they exceed the permitted volume. But all other food products, provided that they are not poisonous and do not stink, are allowed.
Most airlines allow small pets (dogs and cats) into the cabin only if their weight together with the carrier is less than 8 kg. The container or soft bag must have a lock, a waterproof bottom and fit under the seat (dimensions - 55x40x20 cm). However, guide dogs accompanying people with disabilities are allowed into the cabin free of charge and without size restrictions.
Another way is to buy a separate seat for your pet. This way, it will fly with its owner in the adjacent passenger seat. In this case, its weight can reach 23 kg. Larger animals weighing up to 70 kg can be transported in the luggage compartment together with a carrier. The container must be spacious and strong. Read the detailed requirements for them on the website of a specific carrier. Does your pet meet all the rules? Hurry up to buy plane tickets .
Unusually, some airlines prohibit taking snakes and spiders on board, others allow small monkey companions into the cabin, and others, in addition to cats and dogs, also accept falcons (Egyptair).
