When planning a business trip, it’s important to consider every detail. If you’re planning to fly with Aeroflot, review the rules for carrying items on the plane in advance to avoid issues at check-in. Here are the key details.
Aeroflot baggage allowance
Aeroflot has specific allowances for free checked baggage, with total dimensions up to 203 cm (length + width + height). Holders of business class tickets on the “Maximum” and “Optimum” fares get 2 pieces up to 32 kg each, while business passengers on the “Base” fare get 1 piece up to 32 kg.
As for Comfort Class passengers, under the “Maximum” fare they get 2 pieces up to 23 kg each. The “Optimum” and “Base” fares include 1 piece up to 23 kg, and the “Light” fare does not include any free checked baggage.
Information for those who chose Economy Class ticket booking: the “Maximum” fare includes 2 pieces up to 23 kg each, the “Optimum” and “Budget” fares include 1 piece up to 23 kg, and the “Light” and “Shuttle” fares do not include any baggage allowance.

Carry-on baggage
Carry-on baggage is just as important since employees pack the most valuable items there that they need close at hand in case checked bags are lost: a laptop, documents, money, medications. Aeroflot has the following restrictions: Economy and Comfort Class passengers — 1 piece up to 10 kg, and business class ticket holders — 1 piece up to 15 kg. The carry-on size requirements are the same for all classes: the bag must not exceed 55 cm in length, 40 cm in width, and 25 cm in height.
In addition, each passenger is allowed to carry the following items free of charge as part of carry-on baggage:
- a backpack/women’s handbag/briefcase weighing up to 5 kg and with dimensions up to 80 cm total (length + width + height), provided the passenger places it in the overhead bin or under the seat;
- outerwear;
- an umbrella;
- a suit in a garment bag that can be folded;
- medications and dietary food;
- purchases made at airport duty-free stores, if packed in a sealed bag with total dimensions up to 115 cm (length + width + height).
You can also carry one musical instrument up to 135 cm in size, a tennis racket in a case, or a badminton set in a case free of charge as carry-on. If you plan to bring a guitar, notify the airline’s representatives 36 hours before departure — don’t forget to do this when planning a business trip.

Oversized and special baggage
If your baggage weighs more than 32 kg but less than 50 kg, or if one of its dimensions exceeds 203 cm, you must coordinate transportation with the airline no later than 36 hours before departure. At no additional charge, according to the number of checked bags included in your fare, you may check oversized sports equipment, firearms with ammunition, and musical instruments.
Excess baggage fees
If your baggage exceeds the free allowance, an additional fee applies based on a set rate. The amount depends on the route, the number of bags, and your ticket class, and starts at $35. The fee is charged for additional pieces in the baggage compartment.
Tips
Aeroflot loyalty program members can receive extra free baggage allowance, so it can be beneficial for companies to increase their loyalty tiers. If you’re flying as a team of several people and one employee’s suitcase exceeds the free allowance, you can use the baggage pooling by weight service. The combined weight and number of bags must not exceed the allowance for the number of people participating. You can arrange pooling at the check-in desk.
