It seems that many African countries are similar to each other, but one of them is definitely worth visiting. Kenya is a territory of amazing nature and unexpected discoveries. We have prepared a short list of must-see places in this country.
Nairobi slums
The capital of the state is far from the most interesting city in Kenya, but there is something to see here too. The famous slums amaze the imagination of all tourists - hundreds of hectares of dwellings built from clay, plywood, broken slate and rusty tin. The main rule is to ensure a safe walk, hire a guide.
Masai Mara
The main attraction of this country is the Masai Mara Nature Reserve. Herds of grazing zebras and antelopes, leopards and cheetahs in their natural environment, giraffes, a river infested with crocodiles, hyenas, rhinoceroses, meerkats - you will feel like you are inside a Discovery Channel program.
Maasai show
A must-see for all tourists is the Masai tribe. They put on bright shows for visitors, but to a greater extent this has long been a game for the public. But you are still guaranteed vivid impressions.
Africa's largest lake
In the west of the country there is part of Lake Victoria, which is divided between Uganda and Tanzania. About 200 species of fish are found here. Tourists have access to a fishing service, and a hotel nearby will prepare a delicious dinner from your catch.
Samburu
This is another indigenous site, but not as well known. Local residents can show you a real village, without welcoming songs and dances, but with authentic life and traditions.
Mount Kenya
The highest point of the country, the mountain of the same name, is located at an altitude of 5199 meters above sea level. 33 route options have been developed for different levels of training. The National Park around Kenya with buffalos, zebras, elephants, monkeys and mineral springs is worthy of attention.
equator border
The border of the equator runs invisibly through the territory of Kenya. There are two cities on the line - Kisumu and Nakuru. In general, except for the information board that this is where the conventional demarcation strip between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres is located, there is nothing interesting in the settlements.
Amboseli Park
Amboseli is a unique park. Since the climate here is very dry, the vegetation is low and animals can be seen very well. Hippos, elephants, flamingos - everything is in full view.
Marathon City
In the settlement of Iten, with 45 thousand people, the number of Olympic champions and world record holders is simply off the charts! 80% of the winners of recent world races train here. Apart from the stadiums where the champions train, there is nothing to see here, but sports fans will find it interesting.
Indian Ocean
The best resort in Kenya is Diani Beach. The program includes all the standard entertainment - relaxing on the beach, diving on the reef, viewing corals, observing marine life.
