The Humble Administrator's Garden appeared in Suzhou in the 16th century. It took 20 long years to build. This whimsical garden is deservedly listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Fisherman's Garden was founded in the 18th century and belonged to a government official who, after retiring, wished to become a "common fisherman." In 1981, the garden's landscape was recreated at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York as the finest example of a classical Chinese garden. It is also listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Silk Museum (Silk Factory) - Suzhou is a city of parks and gardens, and it is also the birthplace of silk.
